Preventing Bad Breath
Don’t smoke.
Take care of your teeth and gums by brushing at least
twice a day and flossing before you brush your teeth at bedtime to remove
all of
the food particles and reduce the plaque levels in the mouth. Clean
your mouth after eating/drinking milk products( including milky tea
etc.) Brush your tongue every day to remove dead cells and food particles.
This can be difficult at first but you can train yourself to be able
to clean the tongue further and further backwards without feeling sick.
Use a mouthwash such as Listerine or Plax to reduce the level of plaque
in the mouth.
Drink plenty of fluids avoiding too much coffee.
Chew sugar-free gum
particularly if your mouth feels dry.
Eat fresh fibrous vegetables.
Visit your dentist regularly to ensure
that any problems which are starting are promptly attended to. Your
dentist may advise visiting
the dental hygienist for regular scaling and polishing. This is a proven
preventive measure to reduce gum problems and tooth decay.
